Tree Planting Story and Pictures

The first Marici Branch-out event of 2022 was a huge success! 170 plants were planted by very happy (if slightly drenched) volunteers in West Seattle. Special thanks to Noah for organizing this!

We are so grateful to have had Zaya Vajra Sakya Rinpoche and the Monastery Lamas attending and leading the special prayers for the event, and even helping to plant trees themselves. And thank you to a truly wonderful bunch of volunteers sharing their compassion for the Earth, and for the use of their muscles.

Hello all, thought I’d share a fun story to a make your day.  I was approached by the Marici Fellowship based out of Sakya Monastery in Greenwood neighborhood as they wanted to do a community service in Puget Park.  Last Saturday a group of 15 or so folks along with 3 Monks came down to the back part of the park (by the Powerline Road), formed a circle and proceeded to chanted a beautiful Tibetan prayer in the rain.  Afterwards everyone picked up shovels and planted over 100 plants which were all blessed by the Monks.  A magical day for sure! They will be back in November for one more planting event.  I shared with them how thankful the neighborhood is of their visit AND how loved our little park is!  A HUGE thank you to the folks of Marici Fellowship!
